Tail of US bomber Lockheed / Vega B-17G-5-VE (№ 42-39867) «Hang the Expense III» 351 th Bombardment Squadron of the 100th Bombardment Group USAAF, damaged by anti-aircraft fire during a raid on Frankfurt, January 24, 1944. Tail gunner Roy Urich was thrown clear by the explosion, but he survived and was taken prisoner. This aircraft was repaired and re-joined the 100th Bombardment Group. greetz,brummbar
