US Army Air Force
47th BG
From the interesting site of USAAF’s 47th Bombardment Group in WW2 (47thbombgroup.org) a fine shot of one of its Douglas A-20s Havoc photographed during its stay in Tunisia, 1943, before the transfer in Italy. The photo highlight many details, like the large Wright R-2600-A5B Twin Cyclone radial engines, 1,700 HP each, of this excellent American aircraft classified “Attack” and in the RAF knew like Boston. Note the propellers blades leading edge scraped by the use on the North Africa’s sandy terrain. Victor Sierra
