An American  A-20 Havoc bomber of the 9th Air Force U.S. Air Force, shot  by antiaircraft fire.  Flak tore the tail of the aircraft. The fate of the crew is not known. No time or place mentioned.

Benghazi, Libya, Spring or Summer 1943: a close formation of USAAF’s B-24 Liberator overfly palms and militaries tents just after the take-off from a Libyan airfield, perhaps Benina, near Benghazi. The Bomber Groups of this aircraft are or the 376th or the 98th, both of the 9th Air Force and both based in Libya on first half-1943. Victor Sierra
