This plane with Bulgarian Air Force’s insignia is the KB-309 “Papagal” (parrot), knew also as KB-6, basically a license built aircraft of the Italian recce aircraft Caproni Ca.309 “Ghibli” by Kazastak’s factory of Kaproni Bulgarski, a Bulgarian company of the Caproni Group. The main differences from the original Italian plane, the KB-6/KB.309 was German Argus As.10C engines, modified nose glazing, a long row of windos over the fuselage and a redesigned tail. The Bulgarian Air Force employed twenty-four “Papagal”, first flight November 28, 1940, for transport, light bomber and reconnaissance roles. The last survivor was withdrawn from service in 1946.
