Man who killed Heydrich

Sgt. Major Jan Kubis, soldier of Czekoslovakian army. After occupatin his counry Kubis run to France, fighted in French campaign 1939-40 and was decorated by Croix de Guerre. Then Kubis evacuated to Britain (together with rests of Czechoslovakian Army in France), after commandos and parachut training Kubis and his friend Gabcik jumped near Prague and fighteded in Czech resistance. 27.5. 1942 Kubis and Gabcik waited for Heydrich´s mercedes in Prague streets. Howewer, Gabcik´s sten-gun was failed, Kubis hit against Heydrich´s car british anti-tank handgrenade. SS-obergruppenführer Heydrich was wounded, died one week later. 18.6. gestapo founded paratrooper´s hiding place in one church. The battle started... seven men defended the church against all SS-battallion with artillery support for 10 hours(!). Last four wounded paratroopers suicided their last bullets. Kubis died among the firsts. He was hardly wounded by a few hand grenades, died during transport to hospital. His body was buried in unknown grave "somewhere in Prague", his head was preserved to skull and showed to Hitler. And where is Kubis´s skull now? Probably in some German medical university as teaching aid....
