Spanish Cant-Z-506s

Two of four float planes CRDA Cant-Z-506 Airone of Spanish Nationalist Air Force on San Juan air harbor, Pollença, at Mallorca about the end of Spanish Civil War. The number 73 is the type number of Spanish float planes of this type. On Summer 1938 these aircraft equipped Escuadrilla 1-E-73, part of the newly formed Grupo 2-G-62-73, while Escuadrilla 2-E-62 was equipped with the old Cant Z.501s. Two Spanish Cant-Z-506s lost was two, both from accidents. One of this was the aircraft 73-1 crashed in the sea on October 28, 1938. In this accident was killed Ramón Franco, national hero after the trans-Atlantic flight of “Plus Ultra” on 1926 and brother of Caudillo Francisco Franco. Victor Sierra
