For years local and German tv stations had a 'Krimi'(Police) series called 'Derrick' starring German actor Horst Tappert.Tappert had always been a bit secretive about his wartime story saying he was part of the Wehrmacht as a 'Sanitäter',medical guy.Now a study by sociologist Jörg Becker discovered otherwise.It seems that the famous actor was on the payroll of the Waffen-SS.In fact he was a member of the 'Totenkopf' Division and took part in the retaking of Charkov in 1943,being a panzer-grenadier specialised in throwing handgrenates.At the end of the war he is said to have spent some time in prison.The actor died in 2008. Since this came into the news several tv station have cancelled the 'Derrick' series from being broadcasted. The actor died in 2008
