Yak-3 fighter flown by Lieutenant Roger Marchi, Normandie-Niemen Regiment, Free French Air Arm, with that formation in the Soviet Union.  Lt. Marchi was credited with four full victories and two shared "kills".  This example is preserved at the Museum of the Air and Space, Le Bourget, Paris.  Note the common "Normandie-Niemen" livery; Soviet Red Stars, "lightening flash" on the side; French tricolour colours on the nose cone.  Best regards, JR.
