Peter Roth, of Erbach, Germany, PoW in England, and Margaret Stratton, Peterborough, England, on their marriage on 22 May, 1948. Their relationship had started before the lifting of the "non-fraternisation" directive - a sort of "war crime", I suppose. Margaret and her mother had gone out of their way to arrange Peter's stay with them over Christmas, 1946, at a time when the "non-fraternisation directive" was still in force. Best regards, JR.
