Sinking of a CANT-Z-1007bis

Hit by AA fire during a bombardment mission over Famagosta, Cyprus, August 21, 1941, a Cant Z 1007bis "Alcione" of Regia Aeronautica, landed in front of Turkish coast, sink in the Aegean Sea. The plane is the aircraft MM 22156, number 8 of 210th Squadriglia (code 210-8 over the white strip on fuselage), 41st Gruppo Bombardamento Terrestre based at Rhodes. The photo was taken from the dinghy by a military photographer embedded in the crew. The crew, obviuosly with the photographer, was rescued by a torpedo boat (MAS) sailed from Rhodes. Victor Sierra.
