The only one semovente 149/40 built was captured by Germans after Italian armistice, and later captured again by US forces. Now it's exposed in US artillery museum of Aberdeen.

Nevertheless CR 42 was used as fighter-bomber and night fighter still to 1944, when the production stopped. The Germans used about 60 CR 42s, the last serie of production, as fighter-bombers in Balkans.
