As the Axis withdrawal continued, the planes of the RHAF dwindled down in number more and more, and when production of these German-designed planes was increased in the Hungarian city of Gyor, fuel shortages often caused additional problems. Here two  ME-109 fighters, with Hungarian tail colors, are shown on the Eastern front, during the winter of 1943-1944.

Many young Hungarian pilots died flying on the Eastern front, but these three fighter aces managed to come out on the top. Shivering in front of an Me-109, somewhere in the East, during most likely the winter of 1943-1944, pose these victorious fighter aces, from left to right, Lieutenants Debrody (26 kills), Molnar (25), and Szeverenyi (7).
