Infrared, circa 1944: One of the few SdKfz.251/20 "Uhu" equipped with the "Biwa" infrared gear for the vehicle driver and MG42 gunner. Reported range of the infrared gear was 500+ meters. But with the muzzle flash from the MG42 as intense as what it was, I wonder how useful the whole contraption could ever be? The ability to see in the dark is cancelled out when you are blinded by your own muzzle flash!
