German Armored Forces & Vehicles
fbbrummbar
All the armour and firepower of the German Tiger tank was wasted if it couldn't get to the battlefield. It was too wide for the standard railway loading gauge (requiring special narrow tracks for rail transport, and the removal of the side skirts and outer road wheels) and it was too heavy for many bridges, with the unfortunate consequences seen here. This was worsened by the fact that it was also too heavy for the standard German heavy recovery vehicle, requiring three of them together to recover it. taken from fb/Friends of the tankmuseum
