Finnish Forces
Corporal Antero Komulainen (1921-1944). He entered military service on April 3, 1941 and served in 5th Communication Battalion (1941), 13th Communication Battalion (1941-1943), and finally in the 15th (infantry) Brigade. He fought in battles at Kiestinki (north front), Svir river, Sammatus (PSS-line) and Vitele (Ladoga Karelia). He received the corporal's stripes on May 26,1942. He was wounded by Soviet artillery on July 10, 1944, while serving as combat messenger at Pitkäranta (Ladoga Karelia) and died later during the same day. He is buried to hero cemetery of his hometown Kemi.
