Finland bought 59 of these from Germany, in 1943-1944. 
29 of them arrived soon enough to be used in the heavy defense battles of Karelian Isthmus, during the summer of 1944(because of lack of spare parts one of them had to be put to pieces and used as spare parts). The assault gun battalion destroyed 87 enemy tanks, losing 8 of the StuG's (from which some were blown up by their crew after being immobilized).

The StuG's remained in Finnish army service untill 1966.

During the war, Finland bought 1854 of these from Germany. The Panzerschrecks along with Panzerfausts, helped Finns to achieve the defense victories during the summer of 1944. As Finland was outnumbered in armoured troops, and before the StuG's arrived the Finnish armoured division only had obsolete captured light tanks and a few captured T-34's and a couple of KV 1 tanks.
