Evidence of the Fierceness of German Fire at Dieppe
This German photograph of the bow of L.C.T. 1, taken on the Dieppe beach at low water, shows marks of five shells which struck the craft within a very small area. This fire probably came from the west cliff.

242 pilots clowning for the cameras - making fun of some prominent Nazis I believe -
Capt. Odd Bull (Norwegian), Bob Grassick (L-pointing), Douglas Bader (seated) & Turner as Napoleon.  242 "All Canadian" squadron originated as an "All Canadian" squadron in the RAF but as casualties grew, the dead were often replaced with British pilots and Douglas Bader was appointed S/L on the squadrons return from France.
