A Vickers Wellington DWI (Directional Wireless Installation) aircraft of No. 1 General Reconnaissance Unit, flying South-West over the harbor at Tripoli, during a mine-clearance operation soon after the occupation of the town by the Allies on 23 January 1943. The DWI version of the Wellington was fitted with a 48-foot diameter electromagnetic ring for exploding magnetic mines sown by the Axis forces. Victor Sierra
