Ready for action - Malta, 1942.

US-built M3 "General Grant" variant tanks serving with the British 3rd Royal Tank Regiment, Western Desert, March 1942.  In spite of the limited traverse of its sponson-mounted 75 mm main armament, the arrival of the M3 - better armed than any British tank encountered to date, and pretty well armoured for the time - presented the Germans with immediate difficulties. The allied forces want to drop this flyer in Germany but heavy wind blows the flyers on the wrong side of the border.My father found the flyer and always kept it.
