Mediterranean Sea, position 37.10N, 00.05E, South-east of Cartagena, 4 March, 1943: the U-83, a German Type VIIB submarine, under attack from a Lockheed Hudson of No. 500 Squadron RAF based at Blida. Three 100-lb AS bombs are seen exploding short of the target after the first attack run. Afterwards the Hudson dropped three 150-lb depth charges against the U-83 which sank with the entire crew: 50 men included the commander, Kptlt. Ulrich Wörisshoffer. Victor Sierra
