Mediterranean Sea, position 37.10N, 00.05E, South-east of Cartagena, 4 March, 1943: the U-83, a German Type VIIB submarine, under attack from a Lockheed Hudson of No. 500 Squadron RAF based at Blida. Three 100-lb AS bombs are seen exploding short of the target after the first attack run. Death of a submarine

Graf Zeppelin was the only German carrier, but it was never compleated. Ship was first scuttled by the Germans in 1945, raised by the Soviet navy and later used as a target.
