Destroyers USS Kearny (DD-432) and USS Monssen (DD-436) alongside are moored in Icelandic waters, near Reykjavik, two days after the torpedo attack on 19th of October, 1941 (before the U.S. officially entered the war) by the German submarine U-568. On the right side of the Kearny, in the center, the hole from the torpedo is visible.
