A Brewster F2A-3 "Buffalo" aircraft from the 211th Fighter Squadron of the US Marine Corps has made an emergency landing, due to landing gear failure on the flight deck of the  aircraft carrier USS Long Island (AVG- 1) at sea, near Palmyra atoll, northern-central Pacific. July 25, 1942.
