Wake of war.

Red Beach, Bieto, Tarawa. 2nd day of battle. Extreme detail at 7 MB. Image is looking east about 11 am. The man in the middle without helmet is Cpl Robert E Voorhees. Carrying supplies to Lt Bonney, CMH per his request of Voorhees. Voorhees just picked up ammo, water and a smoke grenade from dead Marines on the beach. He did not look at their faces. It was documented in his book.
