A documentary, "Target-Japan" was requested by the Navy to remind the public that the war in the Pacific had only begun.  Barring no holds, this showed the terrible cost (above) of American victories over the Japanese, stressed the price of other victories still to be won.  In their sobering influence on national thought, such films as this filled a vital wartime role.

Scenes like this took place on every battlefront of the world.  Blood plasma was used in 97 out of every 100 casualties.  Thanks to the willing response of millions of blood donors many a wounded man, such as the US Marine above survived their injuries.
