US Army Photo**

Soldiers of Company I stand guard over exhausted and cold German POW veterans of the Hurtgen Forest campaign. Captured at Junkersdorf, Germany (10-15 miles east of Aachen) on December 12, 1945, they were assembled and marched out of the front lines that morning by the equally exhausted survivors of Company I, 39th Infantry Regiment, US 9th Infantry Division.
