American landing crafts from the transport ship Anne Arundel (AP-76) are on the way to Omaha Beach, Normandy, France. To the right is the heavy cruiser USS Augusta (CA-31). On the ship was the command of the American Army and Navy, headed by Lieutenant General Omar Bradley and Rear Admiral Alan Kirk; June 6, 1944.

A Douglas C-47  "Skytrain" is loaded with more serious casualties - 24 stretchers - to fly back from Saint Laurent-sur-Mer, Normandy, France to a hospital in England. The flight would last 45 minutes. An Army medic and a nurse are on hand to assist; June 1944.
