   I Co / 8th Infantry Regiment of the US 4th Infantry Division in the landing zone of Utah Beach, Normandy, France. 
   In the foreground, company commander Captain Frederick C. Maisel. Behind the captain is a soldier with a bundle of life belts. On the right of the picture is a signalman with a Walkie Talkie. 
   After landing, the company crossed the coastal dune and moves in a sector safe from mines, marked by visible white ropes. On the crest of the dune a bulldozer clears a passage for incoming equipment. In front of it, a censor blocked out something; June 1944.
