Representatives of nine countries and highest ranking officers of the American troops stationed in Europe followed the coffin... Neither General Dwight Eisenhower nor President Harry Truman attended.
   During the burial, a military band played the Third Army March.
   After a brief religious service, he was laid to rest at the American Military Cemetery in Hamm, Luxembourg; December 23, 1945.
