American soldiers return to the U.S. after hostilities were over and victory was achieved in Europe. One soldier is proud to show off with the war souvenir he brought back; 1945 


Homecoming

I made contact after 50 years with a man who held my Uncle Don as he died on their landing craft on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. Don asked the man to take this photo out of his pocket, it is their wedding photo taken before he left for the war.
