A Victory Parade was held in Tunis, capital of Tunisia, north Africa, on May 20, 1943, in which units of the British First and Eighth Armies and representative detachments of the American (U.S. II. Corps) and French forces marched past, with bands playing and generals Eisenhower, Alexander and Giraud taking the salute.
