U.S. Ninth Army Crosses the Rhine River

The 504th Parachute Infantry advancing to another assembly point prior to an assault on German positions near Heersbach, Belgium, during the final days of the Battle of the Bulge in January 1945. The 504th saw near-continuous action for almost five months following the devastating battle of Cheneux, Belgium.
