Storming the beaches

US troops move out of "Bocage" country during Operation Cobra, breakout from Normandy.
Operation Cobra was the codename for an offensive launched by the First United States Army (Lieutenant General Omar Bradley) seven weeks after the D-Day landings, during the Normandy Campaign of World War II.

Breakout from Normandy

A 57mm anti-tank gun and a patrol of American GIs from the 30th Infantry Division peer eastward toward Maastricht, Holland from the outskirts of the community of Cadier-en-Keer in mid-September of 1944. The men belong to Company C, 1st Battalion, 117th Infantry Regiment.
