A jeep carrying two Wehrmacht officers, taken prisoners of war, the driver pauses to exchange words with the crew of a M5 light tank in the German town of Hersfeld in 1945. The town was spared destruction, when two officers guaranteed the town’s peaceful handover to the U.S. Army.
