Generals Dwight D. Eisenhower and Charles de Gaulle share a joke, around the time of Operation Overlord.  I have the very greatest respect for Ike.  He had one of the hardest jobs of the war - persuading, cajoling and pressuring the ambitious, fractious, bickering political and and military leaders of the western "Allies" (of whom CDG was one of the more difficult) to pull together in the interests of achieving final victory in the West.  His general success in this suggests that, had he not entered the military, he would have been a really great diplomat ... JR.

Pvt Robert Price, 28th Inf Div, 110th Inf Reg, K Co

This is a photo of Fallen War Hero and Silver Star recipient Private Robert C. Price. Mr. Price was in Blumenthal Germany in March 1945 with my dad when they both volunteered to run across a field overseen by a an enemy machine gunner in a pillbox. My dad went first and under fire made it back. Brave Mr. Price made it across the field and was returning with info retrieved from another squad when he stepped on a land mine and passed away shortly thereafter.
