“Marlene Dietrich Swaps G.I. Boot for Gold Pump” was the official title of this LIFE photo taken in February 1945 near the Ardenne sector. It depict Marlene changing before a show for the troops near the front lines.

Pvt Robert Price, 28th Inf Div, 110th Inf Reg, K Co

This is a photo of Fallen War Hero and Silver Star recipient Private Robert C. Price. Mr. Price was in Blumenthal Germany in March 1945 with my dad when they both volunteered to run across a field overseen by a an enemy machine gunner in a pillbox. My dad went first and under fire made it back. Brave Mr. Price made it across the field and was returning with info retrieved from another squad when he stepped on a land mine and passed away shortly thereafter.
