To help with the break out from Anzio, the commander of the 3rd Division (US) Gen. J W O'Daniel  supported the idea of using metal sleds pulled behind tanks, to attack heavily defended objectives. This is a training exercise in June 1944.  Seems like a seriously bad idea.
