Two American nurses, Vaughan Fisher and Margaret Hail, fold dressings in a hospital a few miles behind the front lines. They landed on the beaches on June 10 and walked five miles to this medical station. - There were 4644 U.S. Army nurses stationed on the European front in 1944.
