Apparently,  he regarded the security emergency resulting from the Battle of the Bulge, that interfered with his Christmas, as Just a Bit Much.  OK - actually, I have the very greatest respect for Ike; the diplomatic challenges he overcame in securing reasonably harmonious relations between British, US, Canadian, Polish, French ... etc. allies entitles him to the greatest respect.
