22 september 1944,11 am,Captain Thomas A Norwood is standing beside a local teacher on a bridge over the Zuid-Willemsvaart.Everything is still quiet and peacefull.Later that day Captain Norwood leads a patrol in the direction of Eerde.A hidden German panzer opens fire on the patrol,Captain Norwood who's walking point gets hit.Severely wounded he's taken to Bussel the next day but dies on the way.RIP.

CAMP DAVIS, N.C. -- The deadly weapon being used by Pvt. Martin Schirald of Youngstown, Ohio, at Camp Davis is the Army's new .45 caliber sub machine gun -- the "M3". Five and one half pounds lighter than the widely used Thompson sub machine gun, the new weapon is much cheaper to manufacture and just as effective in battle.(5-6-1944)
