Marmon-Herrington tank

Jedsite

In 1941 ,the US government ordered a batch of 240 CTLS light tanks from Marmon-Herrington.These were to be donated to China through lend-lease.However,China did not accept the design and by july 1942 the US were stuck with the 240 light tanks.A number were taken over by the US Army and stationed in the Northern Pacific Area, notably the Aleutian Islands and Alaska. In US service the tanks were designated T14 and T15 depending on the position of the turret. As bigger and better armour began to poor in the US forces, crews despised the Marmon-Herrington tanks.Nevertheless in Dutch service it was known as a reliable machine thanks to its Hercules engine.Note the 2 bow mounted .30 cal machine guns. The crew counted just 2 members, these two having a smoke. For this reason they were often called'the Dutch 2-men tank'.Greetz, brummbar
