Bad Kissingen and its hospitals were surrendered April 6 to the 30th Regiment. The regiment's terms denied an open city so the army could make use of the accomodations. Several German officers and 2,825 soldier-patients became prisoners of war. texag57

General O'Daniel introduced his "Battlesleds" on Anzio. Designed for the upcoming breakout, the sleds were intended to give protection from small arms fire to the twelve-man sled teams pulled behind tanks advancing through barbed wire and mine fields.
