H-hour for the Third Division's plunge toward the German border was 0100, March 15, which began with a six-hour artillery barrage. The division was assembled in Etting, Schmittviller and Bining with all divisional symbols and vehicle unit identification covered. The photograph shows an M8 assault vehicle moving through Hornbach after the Third Division passed through the 44th Division at the frontline.
