John F. Heyn Des Moines John F. "Jack" Heyn, 94, passed away on June 22, 2017 at Wesley Acres in Des Moines. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 at St. Augustin Catholic Church in Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Jack was born March 12, 1923, in Pipestone, MN. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in August, 1941, and served as a photographer during WWII in the South Pacific Islands. The Heyn family, including daughters, Jean and Gail, moved to Des Moines in 1951, where Jack opened his own business, Jack Heyn Photographer. Jack is survived by daughters, Jean (Bob) Keiter and Gail Heyn; grandchildren, Heather Keiter, Dustan Keiter, and Brandon Keiter; and great granddaughter, Morgan Keiter. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dian and his wife, Evelyn "Jonnie".
