American ingenuity: this desert roadster was created by USAAF personnel using a German motorcycle engine, the wheels from an RAF bomb trolley, fuel tanks from a B-24, and parts from a German bomber. All of this added up to a little vehicle that was described as "frighteningly fast" and difficult to control. North Africa, 1943.
