An extremely unusual aerial photograph, taken from a B-17, shows one of its bomb striking the Flying Fortress below during a daylight raid on Berlin. By striking and breaking off the port elevator, the bomb rendered the aircraft into a full nose-down position. No one could bail out. All crew members were killed...

Formation flight

According to my source, this American plane was hit, in the propeller, by an 88 mm shell, over the town/city of Munster. The pilot was 19-year-old lieutenant Edwin Wright.
