This BGH and its' squadron were at Hickam on 12/7/1941 when the Japanese Attacked. Some of my fathers long time friends were dead and the war was only 5 minutes old.

I just came upon this photo and I wonder what happened.Can the fortress escape or is it doomed.I know that planes did get hit by bombs being dropped from above them but did it happen frequently or just by bad luck.Those pilots in the lower layers must have felt terribly afraid knowing this could happen.Greetz,Brummbar
