The B-24J Liberator serial number 44-10629 of the 451st Bombardment Group (Heavy), 49th Bomb Wing, USAAF’s 15th Air Force, base Castelluccio, Foggia Airfield Complex, Southern Italy, in flight over the Adriatic, November 7, 1944. This plane was lost over the Austria on December 11, 1944 with the death of the pilot, Lt. Charles Ralph Campbell, killed by a shell of AA fire. The rest of the crew was POW. Victor Sierra
