The crew of “Sunshine”

449th BG

After the landing at Venegono the crew of “Sunshine” disembarking from his plane and begin the captivity. Note an Italian biplane, perhaps a CR.42, in background. Also in this picture the plane not showing sign of damages. According not official sources the “Sunshine” crew had intention of desert in Switzerland, fact really occurred with some Allied (but not only) crews. Another source quote (the tail gunner’s son) not a Flak’s hit, but an engine’s trouble. Victor Sierra
