This post-war photo shows the definitive version of the M36B2 showing the armored top.  The M36 did serve in the Korean War and was used in many places like Yugoslavia.  The M36 served into the 2000's with the Taiwanese finally pulling them out of active service in 2001...

M36 Jackson "Slugger"

No date or place mentioned but most likely late war,Netherlands/Belgium or Germany.

 During the construction of the M36 GMC's by Fisher Tank Arsenal in Grand Blanc MI, the first contract for 1400 M10A1 chassis converted into Jackson's rapidly used up the stock of newly built and reconditioned M10A1's that had been released from training units in the U.S.

In order to meet the ever-increasing demand for the better AT performance of the 90mm, 187 units were finished as the M36B1. This mated the M36 GMC turret with 90mm Gun M3 onto the hull of available M4A3 tanks, although the finished product was considered a tank destroyer rather than a tank.
